Alertz® is a highly visual electronic noise management resource, specifically designed to reduce, or even eliminate unnecessary pupil classroom noise and chatter. In addition, Alertz®  is also ideal for assembly halls, dining areas, corridors, exam settings, libraries and many other areas where unwanted noise is an issue.

The infra-red remote control enables selection of 7 noise levels, e.g.  level 1. (50dB) (detects whispers) to level 7. (extreme noise).

As noise levels increase beyond any one of the 7 acceptable levels for more than 3 to 4 seconds  and continues, Alertz® will start to activate. Firstly, the green light (acceptable level) extinguishes and followed by ascending amber lights 1,2 or 3 bars (indicating increasing noise levels). Continued increased noise will then activate the flashing red light (too noisy) which will continue to flash, whilst the selected noise level is being exceeded. Depending on personal preferences, select optional attention getting, `wow’ `wow’ siren, or 1 of 4 personalised pre-recorded messages or sounds with appropriate volume level using the remote control.

A digital counter records the number of times the red light is activated.

Alertz® is mains and/or battery powered, and can be table, shelf or wall mounted.

Brilliant

I’m a big lover of visual aids for children and even adults, I’m also guilty of switching off if the same thing been said is constantly repeated! This completely takes the pressure off teaching staff and allows the children to see and take control of their own volume, it’s not just a boring teacher telling them to quieten down. I use this in conjunction with rewards to increase the desire to not reach the red. I like how it can use voice recording so can help the children that like routine so if their regular teacher isn’t in they can still hear their voice and allows the consistency to remain in some ways. I also like how you can use it backwards to encourage quieter children to speak louder, they have to make it go red to get their reward.

Simple visual device

This very simple visual device effectively places children in control of their own noise levels, therefore, maintaining a calm atmosphere. Children respond very well, and love the visual and auditory response the traffic lights provide.
